The 6th Annual Taste of South Tampa
Tickets on Sale Now
Tampa, FL (2/23/11) - Tickets are now available for purchase for the Sixth Annual Taste of South Tampa, sponsored by the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce. The event will take place Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Hyde Park Village. Like past year’s events, attendees should expect a day full of delicious food and live entertainment in the beautiful setting of Hyde Park Village.
Unlike other tasting events that charge per taste, the Taste of South Tampa offers its attendees all-inclusive food and beverage with their admission. Attendees will get the opportunity to sample menu items from an assortment of South Tampa restaurants. Water and soft drinks will be available, as well as beer provided by Dos Equis and wine provided by Barefoot Wine and Bubbly for those of drinking age with proper identification. With advance purchase, regular admission tickets are $35 per person, or $20 for ages 11 to 20. Kids 10 and under receive free admission. On the day of the event, ticket prices increase $5, pending availability.
This year, we are proud to introduce some exciting additions to the event including chance drawing ticket sales for a variety of prizes including a chauffeured night on the town in a Bentley and furniture items from Ashley Furniture. A voting system will also be in place for one lucky restaurant to be awarded the title of “Best of the Taste of South Tampa.”
We are also really excited to bring back our air-conditioned VIP Lounge this year! For a second year in a row, our team has revamped the VIP area so those who choose to upgrade can “taste” in style and comfort. For an additional $15, VIP attendees will be able to enjoy wine and champagne provided by Barefoot Wine and Bubbly, complimentary chair massages by Massage Envy, free photos from ShutterBooth, and furniture to relax on while admiring art from local artisans. As in prior years, VIP tickets are limited and are expected to sell-out far in advance of the event.

Additional sponsors such as The St. Petersburg Times, tbt*, Play 98.7, and Verizon Fios make this event possible; which has in past years raised over $25,000 for local charities. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Best Buddies Tampa Bay, The Humane Society of Tampa Bay, and The South Tampa Chamber of Commerce Michael J. Cruz Fund, which distributes monetary donations back to the community.
