All South Tampa Chamber members are invited to participate on one of our committees. Chamber committees help to facilitate and strengthen the relationship between the Chamber and our member business with our local community through programs focused on MacDill Air Force Base, advocacy and Hillsborough County Public Schools. Please check the Chamber Calendar for the day time and location of our monthly committee meetings.

The Military Affairs Committee (MAC) helps the Chamber to strengthen the relationship between MacDill Air Force Base and the South Tampa community. "MAC" members participate in programs throughout the year including support of military spouses, assistance with transitioning and veteran employment, hosting International Coalition members for Thanksgiving and a Military Appreciation Reception in partnership with the Greater Riverview and Brandon Chambers of Commerce. In 2018, the South Tampa Chamber was named a "Three-Star Chamber of Valor" by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Hiring Our Heroes.

The Economic & Community Development Committee acts as liaison with the Florida Chamber of Commerce and local government agencies to educate Chamber members on issues that affect the businesses and residents of South Tampa. The committee hosts monthly round table discussions with elected officials and the Chamber’s Annual Breakfast with the Mayor. A few of the issues this committee are currently focusing on are Commercial Lease Taxation, Stormwater Improvements, and the Selmon West Extension/Shop Gandy.

The Education Committee is the primary link between South Tampa Chamber members and many of the Hillsborough County District Area One schools. The committee’s goal is to provide support to school principals and students through collaborative interaction and targeted advocacy. The Education Committee participates in the Chamber’s Annual New Teacher’s Welcome Breakfast, the Great American Teach-In and has donated school supplies to hundreds of South Tampa students in need. The committee also presents annual scholarships to high school students from H.B. Plant and Robinson High Schools.

The Chamber’s Ambassadors are members who volunteer their time to provide a crucial link between the Chamber and our Members. Our Ambassadors ensure that all members receive the maximum benefit from their investment. Ambassadors enjoy the rewards of greater visibility for their business, opportunities to interact with new businesses in the South Tampa Community and the exclusive opportunity to build a trusted-advisor relationship with New Members by hosting our orientation program, Chamber 101, and New Member Events.
