STCOC Education Committee Meeting
Guest Speaker:
Janet Pantaleo
Vice President – Major Gifts Officer
Metropolitan Ministries
Janet Pantaleo has been a part of the Tampa community for the past 24 years. For more than eleven of those years, she worked alongside local business owners as an Advertising Account Executive for Bright House Networks cable television. During that time she also volunteered at Metropolitan Ministries, developing a passion for helping homeless children and families. Janet’s advertising customers quickly learned where her heart was connected as she enlisted their support in new and innovative projects that helped those in need… One of the most exciting projects was organizing 6 fundraisers held at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, now known as the David A. Straz Center for the Performing Arts, that benefited Metropolitan Ministries’ self-sufficiency programs.
2017 marked the start of her 12th year on the Metropolitan Ministries staff, where she has personally raised millions of dollars to support the agency, and continues to develop long lasting relationships to help serve poor and homeless families. Janet has brought many life changing programs to the Ministries, including Dale Carnegie training, Metropolitan Ministries Toastmasters Club, SpeakUp for teens and Employment classes for adults. She serves as a mentor through the Hillsborough County Education Foundation’s - Take Stock in Children program. Today she represents Metropolitan Ministries as Vice President – Major Gifts Officer.
Before coming to Tampa, Janet worked for 10 years in the residential Real Estate market in Miami and Spring Hill Florida and holds a Florida Brokers Real Estate license. She also served as the Membership Director for the Hernando County Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of Leadership Hernando. While in Hernando County she helped develop Stage West Jr. Playhouse, a program designed to introduce the performing arts to children. She also volunteered for the Very Special Arts Council in Hernando County and Perfect Harmony, a physical fitness program for students and adults with disabilities. Janet and her husband Tom have a merged family of 5 children and 9 grandchildren.
