  • ATTORNEY GARY DOLGIN ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE GROUP 30

    Gary S. Dolgin, a Board Certified Marital and Family Law expert, who also practices in the area of
    Criminal Defense, has announced his candidacy for Hillsborough County Circuit Court Judge, Group
    30. “I believe that my expertise in Family Law and my background in Criminal Law will be an asset to
    the Circuit Court. I have dedicated my professional career to helping families and children. I am most
    proud of my work reuniting parents with wrongfully abducted children and representing domestic
    violence victims. I look forward to putting my experience to work for the people of Hillsborough
    County.” Mr. Dolgin has run a successful private practice in Tampa since 1993, and has been practicing
    for 29 years. He is one of twenty-eight attorneys in Hillsborough County who are Board Certified by
    the Florida Bar as a specialist in Marital and Family Law. He is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified
    Family Law Mediator. He previously served as an Assistant Public Defender and an Assistant State
    Attorney.

    Mr. Dolgin was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1990. He is the author of Chapter 6 “Temporary Relief,”
    Florida Dissolution of Marriage (Fla. Bar CLE 13th ed. 2016), a book that is utilized by family law
    attorneys and judges in Florida and has lectured at numerous Family Law seminars. He has been
    involved in numerous professional and community activities, including service as former President and
    Vice-President of the Tampa Tiger Bay Club, and is a Paul Harris fellow with the Downtown Rotary
    Club of Tampa. He currently serves as a volunteer arbitrator with the Florida Bar and mentors lawyers
    through Bay Area Legal Services, so that they are qualified to handle pro-bono family law cases. He is
    also a lifelong member of Congregation Schaarai Zedek

    Mr. Dolgin is a native Floridian who has lived in Tampa since he was two years old. He attended Gorrie,
    Wilson and Plant public schools. He received his B.B.A. in Accounting from Emory University in
    1986. He received his law degree from the University of Florida, College of Law in 1990. He is the son
    of the late Dr. David Dolgin, who was a periodontist in Tampa for 43 years and Dr. Ann Dolgin, a
    former associate professor at the University of Tampa and teacher at Plant High School. He has been
    married for almost 29 years to his wife, Wendi Towbin-Dolgin, R.N., who is employed by Marriot
    International. She is also a religious school teacher. They have twenty-one-year-old twins, a son, Corey,
    and a daughter, Mallory, and a fourteen-year-old son, Ari. The election will be held on August 25th,
    2020.
