    TAMPA, Fla. — The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship, in Florida State University’s College of Business, is now accepting applications for its Small Business Executive Program (SBEP) throughout the Central Florida region. Offered at no cost to participants, the programs are funded by The Jim Moran Foundation and Jim and Jan Moran. Application deadline is March 22. This is the first time this program is being offered in Hillsborough County and business owners from neighboring counties are encouraged to apply.
    The programs consists of nine sessions, each focusing on a particular aspect of growing a business or nonprofit. Starting in April and running through June, the Spring 2019 sessions will be held every other week from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Qualified applicants must be actively involved in running a business, be a key decision-maker and their company must have been established for at least three years with five or more employees (or volunteers if the company is a nonprofit).

    The SBEP is designed for CEOs, entrepreneurs, business owners, presidents and executive directors of small businesses. Graduates emerge with the skills and training needed to capitalize on business opportunities, implement best practice management and turn challenges into strategic advantage.
    “This is a tremendous opportunity for entrepreneurs to benefit from continued education and the experience and knowledge of successful people in the Tampa Bay region,” said Shane Smith, director of the Jim Moran Institute’s Central Florida Operations. “For business owners who want to take their businesses to the next level, or learn new elements to sustain and expand their companies, we offer an array of educational classes led by professionals who may have overcome obstacles or simply want to share their success stories.”
    Program graduates receive a certificate and are encouraged to participate in workshops, conferences and other Jim Moran Institute events.
