"Our Mission: To provide
members a forum to promote
their businesses, to educate,
to volunteer their talents
in order to enhance commerce,
culture and growth of the
South Tampa community"
Government Affairs Committee
The Government Affairs Committee acts as liaison with neighborhood associations, the Florida Chamber of Commerce and local government agencies, on issues that affect the businesses and residents of South Tampa.
The goal of the Committee is to make the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce a driving force in issues, events and elections affecting our community. The Committee will:
- Present issues to the Chamber Membership in an educational format.
- When the Chamber takes a position on issues, the General Membership will be well informed on the issues.
- The Committee will provide the Membership with various avenues of action for each issue. Generally this will be a call for Members to contact their appropriate elected representatives requesting specific action.
- Government Affairs Committee Members will monitor progress of issues and bring the results back to the Membership.
There is strength in numbers and the South Tampa Chamber can become a leader on government issues and make a difference by motivating a grassroots force to improve our community. We want to empower our Members with information on all political issues and campaigns affecting South Tampa to make them better informed citizens, ready to vote in City, County and State elections.
The Government Affairs Committee meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Noon at theSouth Tampa Chamber of Commerce office.
