    Are you an experienced property accountant looking for a new challenge?
     
    As a key member of the accounting group, the Property Accountant will join a small, cohesive team to produce real time and actionable financial and management reporting on a diverse range of assets including prestigious New York office buildings, dynamic new development projects such as Midtown Tampa and student housing in the Midwest.
     
    Education/Experience

    • Four-year degree from an accredited university in accounting
    • Between 3-5 years’ experience in real estate or construction accounting
    • Experience with Yardi and/or MRI is required
    • Experience with construction and job cost administration preferred
    • Knowledge of accounting, budgeting and cost control principles
     
    The Property Accountant will be expected to:
    1. Assist with preparation of annual operating and capital expenditure budgets.
    2. Prepare monthly and annual year-end workpapers for financials and tax return preparation for outside accountants
    3. Review year-end journal entries from outside accountant from tax return preparations for outside accountants
    4. Prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheet, profit and loss, and cash flow statements with supporting footnote disclosures
    5. Prepare accruals for month-end close
    6. Perform preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
    7. Work with the accounting software and its integrated property management component to facilitate the flow of financial information for each property
    8. Take charge of special projects
     
    Our Ideal candidate will be:
    • Self-motivated, self-directed, and detail oriented with the ability to work without direct supervision
    • A strong oral and written communicator
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and MRI and/or Yardi
    • Well organized with the skills to manage multiple tasks and set priorities
