The position will be best suited for a process and systems driven tax accountant looking to scale and build out our Tax Practice as a team. Compensation base salary between 60k-80k based on experience.
Duties and responsibilities
? Lead and manage multiple clients to integrate tax efficiency with long-term tax planning strategies.
? Presenting federal and state income tax returns and explaining tax strategies to firm management and clients.
? Work with all types of business entities including Schedule C, C- Corps, S-Corps, partnerships, trusts, estates, fiduciary, exempt organizations and foundations.
? Identify industry/client tax planning opportunities and issues.
? Facilitate complex tax research, work with outside tax specialty law firms and establish tax strategies in response to client business opportunities.
? Advise Client Accounting team on IRS and state issues.
? Respond to correspondence and audits for the Client Accounting team.
? Direct correspondence with client(s), and preparation of internal memos.
? Primarily preparing Business and Personal tax returns throughout the year for clients.
? Assisting with interim tax projections, year-end closeouts, and necessary filings.
? Assisting the Client Accounting team with client tax notices, tangible taxes, property tax situations, sales and use tax audits, business tax audits, etc.
? Implementing tax advice in response to new legislation and planning.
? Help in updating preparation checklists, review checklists, software & workflow, and process documentation for the tax practice.
? Strong tax preparation and detailed review experience.
? BA Degree in Accounting.
? Minimum of 3 years of tax experience with a public accounting firm and/or a business management accounting firm.
? CPA License Preferred.
? Must be familiar with Quickbook Online and Intuit Tax Products
? In-depth knowledge and experience of tax concepts related to individuals, corporations, partnerships, estate, and trusts with a willingness to continue your tax knowledge growth with our company funded education program & conferences.
? Tax research skills, consultation, and advice.
? Strong time management and motivational skills.
? Accounting & Finance General knowledge. Debits & Credits.
? Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
? Strong sales, writing and communication abilities.
