    Make-a-Difference Day 2021
The Center for Development & Civic Engagement (formerly Voluntary Service) at James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital (JAHVH) is facilitating the annual “Homeward Bound for Those Who Served’ on Make A Difference Day”, Saturday, October 23, 2021.  This program will look different than years past, as we are continuing to protect our most vulnerable patients from the outside world—gift cards will be mailed.
We hope that each of you will join us again this year to support the “Homeward Bound for those Who Served” project. The Medical Foster Home program provides placement for approximately 60 non-service connected Veterans who are dependent, chronically or terminally ill with limited family and financial support.  | Click here for for details and pledge information.

On July 15, 2021, the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority launched a pilot toll savings program for MacDill Air Force Base employees who travel the full length of the Selmon Expressway.  For drivers who use the Selmon Expressway every day for their commute, the savings will be as much as 40% each month.   To enroll in the program, you must be employed at the MacDill Air Force Base and have a SunPass account in good standing.  The website for this pilot program is www.SelmonDiscount.com.

    Flags for Hillsborough’s Heroes
Join the Rotary Club of Tampa as we celebrate the heroes in our lives by placing a flag in their honor. Flags for Hillsborough’s Heroes is a spectacular visual honor for our loved ones, military, veterans, first responders, medical staff, teachers, and anyone else who serves. Over 200 flags will fill Veterans Memorial Park for three days in November as a beautiful tribute to the strength of our community and to those who make a difference. Each 3×5 flag bears a medallion with the name of an honoree, their service information, and the sponsor’s name. The sponsor of that flag chooses who it will honor and may keep or present the medallion to the honoree after the event as a keepsake. Info @ https://flagsforheroestampa.org/
