TBAE NETWORK WINS TWO TELLY AWARDS

TAMPA, FL – (May 12, 2014) – Tampa Bay Arts & Education Network (TBAE) won two Tellies’ in this year’s 35th Annual Telly Awards. Characters of Ybor City is a bronze winner of the History and the Cultural categories.  The 35th Annual Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs. This year there were 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries around the world.
 
“We are so pleased that we were able to showcase the history of Ybor City,” said Glenda Maiden, Creative Services Director and Program Coordinator for TBAE Network.
 
Characters of Ybor City is an original television series featuring six unique characters and their contributions to the color, tone, and exotic nature of Ybor City –Tampa’s premier Latin Quarter.  TBAE Network’s producing partners on the series were USF’s Osher Lifelong Learning Center, the Tampa Bay History Center, the City of Tampa, the School District of Hillsborough County, and the Columbia Restaurant. 
 
“Tampa Bay Arts & Education Network’s accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production,” said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards.
